Mike is a Senior Vice President and Health Consultant in Segal’s New York office with over 20 years of consulting experience. As a member of the Multiemployer Health Practice, he works with many large multiemployer health and welfare and pension plan clients across a range of industries.
Mike is a member of the firm’s Medical Stop-Loss Leadership Group, which oversees related research and development to ensure the best guidance for our clients. He negotiates stop-loss contracts, develops and analyzes requests for proposals, oversees staff education and manages vendor relationships. Mr. Tesoriero also conducts internal and external training seminars on the stop-loss insurance market and serves as a national resource for large and complex casework.
Mike joined Segal as a Health Benefits Consultant in the Corporate Health Practice in 1998. Before joining the firm, he gained experience in new business and renewal underwriting at a major insurance company.
Mike received a BS in Mathematics and a Minor in Business from the State University of New York at Albany. He has passed actuarial exams and is currently pursuing his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. In 2016, he spoke on "Update on Stop-Loss Insurance and Other Benefits," at the Amalgamated Life Insurance Company Training Meeting.
