As a consulting actuary, Mr. Scharf has extensive expertise in preparing, reviewing and consulting on issues related to corporate pension plans as well as postretirement medical plans. Mr. Scharf's pension and benefits expertise includes retirement plan redesign and strategy. He evaluates both the impact on companies' emerging contributions and financial statements as well as the effect on the employee population, both in the short term and the long term.
Doron is also a member of Segal’s Sports Practice Leadership Team and is a leading consultant to several major sports leagues, both in the U.S. and internationally. He provides consulting and quantitative analysis to help address the unique challenges faced by leagues. Mr. Scharf leads Ref360®, Segal’s data-driven Officiating Evaluation Program used by leagues worldwide to assess the performance of their referees on a decision-by-decision basis.
In addition, Doron co-directs the Strategic Defined Contribution Analytics (SDCA) practice, which analyzes employee-level data to uncover human resources issues for clients as well as identify DC plan successes and challenges. The practice develops customized analyses based on DC plan and other supplemental data, and partners with organizations to develop action plans that can be subsequently measured for success.
Doron works with many of the firm’s largest clients, including companies in the sports, aerospace and communications industries.
