Stu is a Senior Vice President and East Region Leader, based in the New York office. He is responsible for overseeing Segal’s services to clients in the Houston; New Orleans; Atlanta; Washington, DC; Hartford and Boston offices.
Stu has over 30 years of experience, most recently as the firm’s Administration and Technology Consulting (ATC) Practice Leader, where he responsible for helping the ATC Practice develop and delivering a wide variety of consulting services that helped public sector, multiemployer and corporate clients create operational efficiencies, improve member services, reduce administrative costs, better leverage technology and increase internal controls. His expertise includes business process analysis and redesign, organizational and operational redesign, system selection and implementation management and information technology assessments.
Stu is currently serving his third term on Segal's Board of Directors and is the Chair of Segal’s Information Technology Steering Committee. He is a key member of Segal’s National HIPAA Compliance Team and plays a vital role in identifying, reviewing and assessing multiemployer compliance approaches as well as potential compliance solutions offered by transaction software companies and clearinghouses. He is also the Founder and an Advisory Council Member of the Multiemployer IT Summit, a group dedicated to bringing multiemployer technology experts together to share ideas and industry best practices.
Prior to joining Segal, Stu worked for a large Taft-Hartley pension fund, where he was instrumental in the design and implementation of their new computer system.
Stu received a BBA in Finance from Hofstra University and an MBA in Finance from Long Island University and completed significant course work in Information System Management at Pace University. Mr. Lerner has completed the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training Program and is also a member of the Association for Work Process Improvement.
