Vanessa is a Vice President and Senior Benefits Consultant in Segal's New York office. She is also Segal’s National Multiemployer Sales Leader, leading strategic growth initiatives for the multiemployer market.
Vanessa is also a member of Segal’s Multiemployer Leadership Group (MLG) comprised of leading consultants who focus on multiemployer client needs. She meets with the MLG regularly to discuss relevant developments and share best practices. The MLG’s pool of resources and consulting expertise enables us to deliver solutions that create long-term success for our multiemployer clients.
Vanessa also serves as the Industry Group Leader for the Bricklayers industry. In this role, she shares information with consultants who serve Bricklayer clients, including industry news, trends, articles and changes in union leadership in order for our consultants to best serve our clients.
Vanessa has more than 20 years of experience as a health benefits professional. She has vast experience working with self-funded health plans, specifically in Upstate New York. She combines her clinical knowledge with administrative experience to offer a unique perspective as a consultant. Her experience includes plan design review and analysis, strategy development and implementation, vendor negotiations and renewals, benefit and wellness strategies, plan design, funding and financial analysis. She serves as a strategic partner to her clients and has overarching responsibility for overseeing her client relationships and ensuring satisfaction with the deliverables and timeliness of services.
Before joining Segal, Vanessa served as Vice President, Client Solutions, for the pharmacy benefits manager ProAct where she was created models for account management and client service that resulted in improved efficiency in both operations and service.
Prior to joining ProAct in 2017, Vanessa was a Vice President with POMCO, a third party administrator (TPA), for 16 years. Previously, she was President of KBM Management, a health and workers’ compensation benefits firm.
Vanessa earned a BS in Nursing from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA). She is a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
