Katelyn is a Senior Actuarial Associate, based in Segal’s New York office, with over four years of experience at Segal. As a member of the Corporate retirement practice, she works on various client teams and projects, including single-employer pension valuations (under ERISA and PPA as well as CAS, FAS and IAS pension accounting), single-employer retiree health valuations, retirement plan non-discrimination testing, retirement plan experience studies and ad-hoc special projects. She provides actuarial support to some of Segal’s largest corporate clients, including companies in the sports, chemical manufacturing, oil and insurance industries.
Katelyn also works in the firm’s Ref360 group, Segal’s data analytics evaluation program used by various sports leagues to assess the performance of their referees. She is also a member of the Corporate Market Risk Assessment and Mitigation Solution team. This solution works with corporations on benefit and de-risking strategies and plan management.
Katelyn earned a BA in Mathematical Sciences, Actuarial Sciences and a BA in Economics from Binghamton University. She is working towards an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation from the Society of Actuaries (SOA). In 2021, she received the firm’s Quality Star Award, which recognizes colleagues who perform work of the highest quality and provide stellar client service.
